Why enrichment matters

Bearded dragons are active, curious lizards. A bare tank leads to inactivity and obesity.

Ideas

  • Branches and rocks to climb at different heights
  • Scattering live insects so they hunt
  • Digging box of clean soil and sand
  • Rearranging décor now and then
  • Supervised time out of the enclosure in a safe, warm room

Get the basics right first

Enrichment can't make up for wrong heat or UVB. The enclosure needs a basking spot, a cooler end and correct UVB lighting.
